BIOGRAPHY AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
John Drake is the 2012 Republican Party nominee for the Nevada State Senate, representing Clark County's District 11. Drake's vision for Nevada includes having crime free communities, a diversified economy that will attract additional industries such as energy and bio-tech to move here, and an operational Yucca Mountain Repository. It would be run by a solvent, fiscally conservative state government with low tax rates, less regulation, a revamped Public Employees Retirement System, and a moratorium on public utility rate increases. Help him make Nevada great by supporting him at the polls on November 6th.

Drake's professional experience is both extensive and diverse, with over 17 years managing financial institutions. Add to this his practical experience as both an auditor and accountant, and what you have is an elected official not adverse to rolling up his sleeves and crunching numbers to find solutions that will improve Nevada's fiscal report card. His career to date working in multiple fields has brought him not only valuable experience, but also a hands on knowledge of how these types of organizations function. The list of industries include Banking, Entertainment, Federal Government Agencies, Gaming and Hospitality, Local and Municipal Government, Public Accounting, and Retail. In 2006, Drake worked with Danny Tarkanian on his campaign for Nevada Secretary of State.

A long time resident of Las Vegas, Drake's local roots date back to his time in grammar school at William E. Ferron Elementary. He graduated from Chaparral High School in 1979, and as Cowboy alum Drake plans to lasso runaway government spending and waste. A Rebel alum as well, having graduated from U.N.L.V. in 1985 with a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and Finance, he will stand up to bureaucratic boondoggling, alone if necessary, that hinders progress beneficial to the great State of Nevada. Drake prides himself on being a Reagan Republican, and feels his political comprehension, energy, and optimism will provide the necessary beacon to illuminate the G.O.P. foundation in Carson City. In his leisure time Drake enjoys studying Nevada/Las Vegas history, playing tennis, cycling, and is a life long Runnin' Rebel basketball fan. He also has a family interest in both Naval and British history, being a distant relative of the 16th Century explorer Sir Francis Drake.
